When the engine is first started after an install, there is always a delay in oil supply reaching the bearings. This can be as long as 30 seconds which is enough time to causeæpremature wear or even seizure. Feeding motor oil to the bearings manually through theæoil feed orifice during installation is not a fool proof way to prevent this problem.
